It’s big and it’s nearby — the 17-acre site on our southwest border that will soon be home to a massive housing development: Balboa Reservoir Project. And your opinion counts.
SNA is holding a special Saturday community meeting about Balboa Reservoir Project — Saturday May 13th, at 10 am, at the Sunnyside Conservatory (236 Monterey Blvd). If you haven’t been able to come to a quarterly meeting on Monday evenings, this is a chance to learn about what is happening on the Project, and how your feedback will affect what is built on this huge site that is currently a parking lot. SF Planning Dept representatives will be present at the meeting.
Soon there will be important opportunities for direct neighborhood feedback, during a showcase review on June 10th for the three developer proposals (location TBA). What will this new housing development mean for Sunnyside parking issues? Traffic routes and congestion? How much open park space will be part of the plans? What type of housing? How many units? Will there be any improvements in transit service to help ease these changes in our neighborhood.
The officers of Sunnyside Neighborhood Association want all concerned Sunnyside residents to have their say about these potential impacts and changes. The coming months are the critical time for that input — not later, after the actual building has begun.
