San Francisco Shakespeare Festival’s touring troupe Shakespeare On Tour comes to Sunnyside Conservatory on Sunday March 3, 2019, to perform ‘The Comedy of Errors’.
Performance begins at 2pm and lasts about an hour. Followed by Q-and-A with the cast. More about the play below flyer image.
This rollicking tale of chaos and confusion caused by two sets of twins has been one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies since its debut in 1594 — and with good reason! Its verbal wit and slapstick comedy offer rich material that’s fun for audiences of all ages.
In The Comedy of Errors, a young man arrives in a new city, accompanied by his faithful servant. Coincidentally both have twin brothers, who were lost in a shipwreck 25 years earlier and already reside in the same city. The resulting confusion builds to a hilarious crescendo, culminating in an unexpected and joyous family reunion.
The show includes couple of walk-on roles where volunteers get to be part of the of the performance. Resident Artist Carla Pantoja (director of last season’s hit production of Romeo and Juliet) stages this hour-long comedic farce that concludes with an audience talk back, where the cast will take questions from the audience.
