Jack-O-Lantern Stroll at Sunnyside Conservatory on Sunday Oct 27

SNA is sponsoring the Second Annual Jack-o-Lantern Stroll on Sunday Oct 27th, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.

Your jack-o-lantern helps makes the event special. Drop off your carved pumpkin creation by 5:30 PM, and we will arrange them with (safe) lighting. Return at 6:00 PM to enjoy a family-friendly party with hot chocolate and cookies! Sunnyside Conservatory, 236 Monterey Blvd.

You can also com earlier to the Pumpkin-Carving Event at the conservatory from 1:30 to 4:30 PM. Kid-friendly carving tools provided.

Free concert at Sunnyside Conservatory on July 11

On Thursday July 11 (7 to 8 PM) you are invited to a free music event featuring local talent, sponsored by Sunnyside Neighborhood Association, at Sunnyside Conservatory (236 Monterey Blvd):

Young, Old, New and Bold: a concert of new and old tunes, young performers, not so young performers.

  • The Sunny Winds, comprised of neighborhood denizens: Danessa Miller, clarinet, Ruth Keys, flute, Louise Pescetta, oboe, Jason Gibbs, bassoon, and Carol Yarbrough, horn. Guest: Alex Strachan, horn.
  • The Jostlein Players: Thomas and Trish Jostlein, St. Louis Symphony horns, and their sons, Klaus, violin and Max, cello.

On Friday July 12, Friends of Sunnyside Conservatory presents Arthur Omura on his harpsichord. Sunnyside Conservatory, 236 Monterey Blvd. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and music will begin at 7:00 PM.  There will be a short pause in the presentation, and refreshments afterward.

He has been working on an all Bach program with Italian Concerto, French Overture, and the  Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue. This is an opportunity to hear harpsichord music played by a wonderful artist. ‘Undiscovered Country’ at Sunnyside Conservatory

At the Sunnyside Conservatory, now through May 19: ‘Undiscovered Country’ performed by We Players — ‘A neo-western love story derived from Shakespeare’s hamlet.’ Adapted and Directed By Ava Roy in Collaboration with Nick Medina with Hunter Scott MacNair, Chris Steele, and Ava Roy Read more here. From the We Players website: 

Cowboy outlaws Jack and Horace rob stagecoaches by day and recite Shakespeare by night. Jack is obsessed with cracking Hamlet’s nutshell, and Horace will play any part to satisfy his eccentric leader. But Jack finds a new Shakespearean confidant in Aurelia, a rich widow with Jack’s passion for the Bard. As the three lonely westerners sink into an unlikely love triangle, Jack sees a Ghost. Is it real? Or is it Jack’s madness that tempts him into the Undiscovered Country?
