Muni bringing back more service

Muni service will expand, as the agency continues to bring back service that was cut during the pandemic. Changes include:

Restored routes effective July 9:

  • 2 Sutter: California Street at Presidio Avenue to Ferry Plaza
  • 6 Haight-Parnassus: 14th Avenue at Quintara Street to Ferry Plaza
  • 21 Hayes: Fulton Street at Shrader Street (St. Mary’s Hospital) to Hyde Street at Grove Street (Main Library)


Modified routes effective July 9:

  • 23 Monterey: Ocean Beach to Bayview District
  • 28 19th Avenue: Daly City BART to Fisherman’s Wharf
  • 43 Masonic: Munich Street at Geneva Avenue to Fort Mason
  • 49 Van Ness – Mission: City College to Van Ness Avenue at North Point Street
  • 52 Excelsior: Persia Avenue at Prague Street to Forest Hill Station
  • 57 Parkmerced: West Portal Station to Daly City BART
  • 58 Lake Merced: Stonestown to Daly City
  • 66 Quintara: Judah Street at 9th Avenue to Vicente Street at 30th Avenue
  • L Taraval Bus: SF Zoo to West Portal Station, transfer to Muni Metro for downtown service

New stop sign at Congo and Hearst

Your District 7 Participatory Budgeting dollars at work: SFMTA approved a four-way stop at Congo St and Hearst Ave a while back, a result of our 2017 grant from the PB program, but it was just installed this week. Thanks, SFMTA — and thanks, Dept of Public Works.

Tues Oct 30: Environmental Review scoping meeting for Balboa Reservoir project

There will be a public meeting to discuss the scope of the Balboa Reservoir project’s Environmental Impact Report (EIR)–which will consider what possibilities and configurations of the project, and its streets, buildings, and infrastructure, will be studied for their environmental impacts. This will be an opportunity to learn more about and comment on the proposed EIR scope of work. More about opportunities to comment below.

Here is the Notice of Preparation from the Planning Dept, which describes the scope of the project to be studied for environmental impacts.

When: October 30th (Tuesday), 6-8pm.

Where: Lick Wilmerding High School cafeteria (755 Ocean Avenue). [Transit: Balboa Park BART; 8-Bayshore, 29-Sunset, 43-Masonic, 49-VanNess, K-Ingleside, 54-Felton.]

Jul 9: Balboa Reservoir community meeting — Transportation

The next meeting of the Balboa Reservoir Community Advisory Committee (BRCAC) is Monday July 9th, 6-8pm (Multi-Use Building, CCSF, 50 Phelan Ave). This meeting is open to all and includes time for public comment. All local residents are welcome. More about the project here.

The subject is “On- and Off-site Transportation“. Also on the agenda: the BRCAC will elect a new chair and vice-chair at this meeting.
